The Solo Traveler

What am I trying to prove?
Who am I trying to prove it to?
Why do I always just up and move?

I’ve travelled alone for so long
I just want to travel with someone
Is that so wrong?

Share the adventure
Share the journey
No need to write down the story

Solo time is good and well
But sometimes it just makes me dwell

A tear is shed here and there
As the passerby takes time to stare

A picture says a thousand words
But not as many as if you were here
I write because I want to share

    1. Thank you Ryan! This poem came out of a conversation after 72 hours of driving/exploring the east coast of Australia on my own. The power of non-verbal communication and shared memories is profound, but the reflection and introspection one experiences on their own is also invaluable 🙂
